Swindon Outlet kicks off the countdown to Christmas

 

Shoppers enjoyed the first day of Christmas on Saturday as the Swindon Designer Outlet kicked-off the countdown to crimbo with their light switch-on.

It was a day of free live entertainment with carol singers and a male voice choir in a Christmas sing-a-long, with troops from the 4th Battalion Rifles also on hand to join in the celebrations plus the opportunity to meet real reindeer.

 

Endurance World record holder Mike Buss, who this summer ran 100 marathons in 100 days for Help For Heroes, was given the honour to officially illuminate the shopping centre.

  

"The lead up to Christmas is always an exciting time at the Outlet. And tonight's the perfect way to kick off the festivities" said Nick Williams, marketing manager at Swindon Designer Outlet.

"We wanted to make a day of it so the whole family can enjoy themselves plus it's the perfect opportunity for shoppers to get a head start on their Christmas shopping by picking up some fantastic gifts at bargain prices.”
