Who's This All Wrapped Up For Christmas?
Swindon panto stars enjoy the rein - all in the name of showbusiness!
You know the story; girl meets boy, they fall in love, girl gets poisoned by wicked stepmother, boy saves girl and they all live happily ever after among a band of seven small people and a talking mirror. The fairytale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has been brought to life at the Wyvern Theatre with lashings of panto magic, but there has been one mystical moment missing…
Proving that fairy tale endings can happen, leading lady Sophie Camble and her on-stage beau James Boyce paid a visit to Rein & Shine stables in Braydon to meet two snowy steeds that any royalty, fictional or not, would be proud of.
And when we say rein, we literally mean it! It was pretty much lashing down when we took these pictures - not that Sophie, James and their trusted steeds batted an eyelid!
With a brief lesson from stable owner John McDonald, Snow White and Prince Henry were able to ride off and into a happily ever after ending, or at least back to the Wyvern Theatre in time for their next panto performance.
Stable owner John said “It’s been great to be involved with the pantomime and we’ve loved being able to add the final fairytale factor to this love story. Every prince needs a pony and we’re fully equipped to teach people of all ages and regal backgrounds to ride”.
The Swindon panto continues until 03 January.
