Emotional commemoration takes place in Swindon town centre

Passersby, dignatories and those young and old once again gathered to mark Holocaust Memorial Day - this year falling exactly 70 years on from when the Auschwitz concentration camps were liberated in 1945.

Organiser Matt Holland gave an emotional reading in front of over one hundred people with many from local schools attending.
Wreath were then laid ceremony at the Cenotaph in Regents Circus in Swindon at 12 noon, before a time of more reflection was spent at The Friends Meeting House on Eastcott Hill with readings and presentations by members of many of Swindon’s faith groups and community groups, as well as contributions from individuals.
