One in six couples have difficulties conceiving and for more of them than ever before, as many as 25,00 a year in the UK, in vitro fertilisation (IVF) is considered the best option.

 

IVF has come a long way since first pioneered in the UK in 1978 but it is still a physically taxing and expensive process that can have an emotional strain that is hard to bear.

 

If ever there was a tough but worthwhile experience, the strain, emotion, and frustration of which needed to be shared by those going through it, IVF is it.

 

Health Director at Red magazine and herself a woman who has been through the IVF experience, Brigid Moss is the author of IVF: an Emotional Companion, which is an inspirational and informative account of first hand experiences of IVF treatment, and includes invaluable insights from experts in the field.
