What To Expect From Swindon UTC

UTC open evening a big success as team members & sponsors explain the technical college's vision

 

Arval, one of the Swindon University Technical College’s (UTC) supporting business partners, helped to raise awareness of the College to potential students and their families at a recent open evening.

The public event included presentations from UTC Swindon staff and directors who described what would be available at Swindon's newest technical education facility and how to apply for places.

The UTC is due to start welcoming its first students this time next year.

 

The Principal, along with members of UTC Swindon’s board and project team were on hand to answer any questions potential students had about the new University Technical College.

Several industry partners such as Network Rail, Arval, Zycko Ltd, Plantronics and BAM Construction, were also present, providing insight to potential students on the partners’ exciting engineering challenges at UTC Swindon.

 

Prospective students were be able to see the types of engineering careers that will be available once they have finished their education.

 

Applications

The UTC will be admitting students at age 14 (currently Year 9) and 16 (currently Year 11) into its sixth form from Monday 01 September 2014. The deadline for applications is Friday 31 January 2014.
