Farewell, Old Friend!
RAF Fairford says goodbye to a true aviation icon - the Vulcan XH558
A bumper crowd of almost 150,000 people were treated to a spectacular display of aviation from across the globe over the weekend.
The star of the show was without a doubt the ever-popular Vulcan XH558 - making its final Air Tattoo appearance before it is retired at the end of the year.
The delta-winged Cold War bomber performed dramatic solo displays followed by joint flypasts with the RAF Red Arrows on Saturday and Sunday.
Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary
Other notable highlights included a massed flypast of vintage warbirds to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and the international debut of the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force’s Kawasaki P-1 maritime patrol aircraft.
You can view a selection of pictures from all 3-days below. Our thanks as ever to Richard Wintle from Calyx Picture Agency for sending these over.
