Exhibition shows town as was in 'the good old days'

 

There was an opportunity for people in Highworth to take a step back in time this weekend.

 

An exhibition organised by the Highworth Historical Society showcased a fascinating collection of photos, maps and documents chronicling the town's history from Saxon times right up to the present day.

 

But it was the old pictures of Highworth from the early part of the last century until the 1950s and 60s that proved most popular; an era when Highworth was a still busy market town in its own right.

 

The day also included talks and guided tours.
