Swindon honour Armed Forces veterans in a special ceremony at Wharf Green
Swindon honoured Armed Forces veterans in a special ceremony at Wharf Green today.
The Armed Forces veterans were presented with a badge by the Mayor of Swindon and also with a bottle of a commemorative beer, brewed specially for Armed Services Day by Swindon brewers Arkell’s.

Chris Hubert, Reginald Miller, Roy Conde, Andrew Gregory, Pradeep Kumar Rana, Frank Avenell, John Morton, Joan Lillian Ore, Chris Nicholson, Debrinda Paija Birka, Raj Limbu, Babatunde Fagunwa, Michael Douglas, Damon Bower, Del Alibocus were all honoured on the day.
“The badge ceremony is one of the ways we will be recognising the contribution made by veterans in the week leading up to Armed Forces Day," commented Simon Jackson, chief executive of inSwindon, said.
"We are delighted to support the event and provide opportunities for local people to show their support for the Armed Forces.”
The ceremony is just one of the activities promoted by inSwindon in the build-up to Armed Forces Day which also includes a Family Funday, a military parade and a gala dinner.
