From the Dawn Chorus that always starts off this event, through to a run & talk around the picturesque Lydiard Park, there's something for everyone to enjoy during the Swindon Festival of Literature.
 
As in previous nineteen years of the festival, the programme is packed full of events featuring novelists, poets, philosophers, scientists, storytellers, columnists, commentators, historians, comedians, artists, and activists.

John Simpson Swindon Festival of Literature
John Simpson - 18 May
 
Author, World Affairs Editor of the BBC, three-time BAFTA-winner, and award-winning journalist, John Simpson has been to a few places, seen a few things, and found the words to describe them in his book 'Unreliable Sources'.

Claudia Hammond Fesitval of Literature
Claudia Hammond - 14 May
 
Award-winning writer, broadcaster, and the voice of Radio 4’s All in the Mind, Claudia Hammond is the author of Time Warped, which explores our relationship with time.
 
Prue Leith Festival Of Literature
Prue Leith - 16 May
 
Cook, caterer, restaurateur, food writer, journalist, novelist, businesswoman & teacher Prue Leith has certainly been keen to get the best out her life, which she describes in her newly- published autobiography 'Relish – my life on a plate'.
 
Malika Brooker Festival of Literature
Malika Booker - 18 May
 
Malika Booker is the founder of Malika’s Kitchen, a writers’ collective based in London and Chicago; author of Breadfruit, recommended by the Poetry Book Society; and is the first Poet in Residence at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
 
Will Hutton Festival of Literature
Will Hutton - 14 May
 
Author of best-selling The State We’re In, writer for the Observer and leader of the government’s Fair Pay Review, Will Hutton musters some brilliant and convincing arguments in his latest book 'Them & Us: changing Britain – why we need a fair society'.
 
John Challis Festival of Literature
John Challis - 13 May
 
In 'Being Boycie', actor of originality and great distinctiveness John Challis, who has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, talks frankly and affectionately about his life as an actor and a sport & music lover.
