Who Booked The Roller?
Steam theme for Wootton Bassett wedding
When a bride and groom book a 'Roller' for their wedding car you'd normally expect a Rolls Royce - but not in Swindon!
This was the scene in Royal Wootton Bassett this weekend as Charlie Cribbes & Heather Wannell tied the knot at St. Bartholomew's Church.
The happy couple's choice of wedding transport, a 1937 Leyland Cub fire engine, owned by Heather's father, Chris, the former mayor of Wootton Bassett and local fireman for 32 years.
And despite a top speed of little over 5mph, the bride arrived at the church on time.
The procession along the high street also included a 1943 Austin K4, a 1959 Commer Karrier & even a King George VI showman's road locomotive.
To complete the steam theme, bridesmaids carried fire buckets filled with flowers.
