A major water main burst at Bruce Street Bridges in Swindon last night. As of 7:00am this morning traffic was flowing around the four main roundabouts but Great Western Way is still
closed to traffic coming INTO Swindon.
The pictures below show the scene at 11pm last night with the junction near B&Q closed and the road surface lifted due to the leak.
The road leading from Barnfield Roundabout to the first Bruce Street Bridge is currently closed to traffic, and is likely to remain so until Saturday morning.
Police are advising drivers to avoid the area and to use Junction 15 instead of Junction 16 to access the town centre while the road remains closed.
