What's That Coming Over The Hill?....

It certainly wasn't plane sailing for commuters on the A419 yesterday, with a wide load causing long tailbacks

It's not very often that you find yourself stuck behind a passenger jet on the A419, but that was exactly what faced commuters in Swindon on Sunday.

Wiltshire Police were escorting the fuselage of an Airbus aircraft from Kemble Airfield to the Royal Portbury Docks near Bristol. The massive load weighed over 60 tonnes and caused gridlock 'taxiing' towards Junction 15, despite earlier warnings from the police for travellers to find alternative routes.
