Premier League opposition again proved too much for Town tonight as they fell to their fifth defeat of pre-season.

 

In truth it was an uphill struggle from the start, with Town's Achilles heel again rearing its ugly head as early as the 9th minute.

 

Poor defending on a corner leaving James Morrison with all the time in the world to slot away confidently (albeit with a helping hand from the post!)

 

And the travelling midlands contingent didn't have long to wait for a second, this time Victor Anichebe capitalising on a woeful backpass from Yaser Kasim to double the Baggies lead.

 

Kasim didn't let his error effect him, and he soon redeemed himself with a sweet strike that left West Brom keeper Boaz Myhill beaten both ends up - game on!

 

A strong opening to the second-half gave Town fans hope of a comeback, but the Premier League team had a little more left in the tank.

 

The midlands outfit adding further to their tally with late goals from Morrison and Sessegnon.

 

Swindon manager Mark Cooper commented "At 2-1 with 10 minutes to go, we're probably the better team but that happens. They had a really strong team out - I was chatting to a couple of their players that I know and they were impressed with our side which is good for us."
