It was a struggle - but Town came through in the end.

 

New signing Mark Marshall slotting home the decisive penalty in a nervous late-night shoot-out that saw Swindon edge into round two.

A result that seemed highly unlikely going into the final minutes of normal time, with Town 2-1 down.

 

But a rare goal from Jerel Ifil with seven minutes to go levelled matters and sent the tie to penalties.

 

Turnaround

 

Town had earlier taken the lead in the first-half through yet another strike by Simon Cox. 

 

But a double-quick reply either side of half-time by the League Two's new-boys left Swindon chasing the game - and facing an embarassing exit until Ifil shot a thunderbolt into the roof of the net.
