One Swindon restaurant is offering a novel way to beat the winter blues - get a taste of summer!

 

And then pay in euros!

 

The Fat Dog at Shrivenham is offering 3 tapas at lunchtime and in the evening for just 10 euros (or £10).

 

The idea coming after owner Paul Studholme found a ten euro note when clearing up last week - and thought 'what can you buy with that?'.

 

"It's worth a lot more now than it was in the summer, so if you have any euros left over from your summer holidays, come and spend them with us," he told us.

 

"We do take sterling, of course! But it'll be cheap night out if you can pay in euros you might otherwise not use."

And with a 14-seater mini bus on standby, Paul is even offering a free holiday-type 'shuttle service' for large group booking.

 

"With our big log fire, the pub and restaurant is beautifully warm in the evenings, so why not come and enjoy the best of both worlds," he added.

 

The Fat Dog offer is available at lunctime and evening from Monday to Saturday throughout January and February, with the restaurant also offering a £15 3-course lunch and dinner menu and a full a la carte menu every evening.
