Budget 2009 Reaction

We ask the people of Swindon what they think of this year's budget announcement

We've been out on the streets of Old Town to hear what you have to say about this year's budget, announced today in Parliament by the Chancellor Alistair Darling.

The main focus was a new 50% tax band introduced for people earning over £150,000 along with the predicted rise in alcohol duty and tobacco, plus a planned increase on petrol duty.

A new car scrapping scheme was also launched, where motorists will get a £2,000 discount on new cars if they trade in cars older than 10 years.
