Final stop for bus route

Thamesdown to end service between Fleming Way and Oakhurst

Thamesdown Transport Swindon
Thamesdown Transport have announced that Service 12, which covers the route between Fleming Way and Oakhurst, will be withdrawn after operation on Friday 19th February.

Service 12 was an express service introduced after the Groundwell Park & Ride was mothballed in June 2009.

Thamesdown Transport MD Paul Jenkins said the company was disappointed to have to withdraw the service, but that a lack of take up meant it was no longer viable.

He said: “I would like to thank those passengers who have been using it for supporting this new venture.

“But unfortunately, while a couple of the morning journeys have been carrying reasonable numbers, overall the service is losing money and we are no longer able to carry on with it.

“I very much hope that passengers who have been using Service 12 will continue to travel with us on our other services to and from North Swindon.”

Click on the link below for details of alternative routes. Timetables for all services are also available from the Thamesdown Travel Shop on Fleming Way.

Alternatively call Traveline on 0871 200 2233, for queries about routes and timetables.
