Tour de Swindon cycling events continue with Sustrans pop-up shop & bike demos

 

The Tour De Swindon is taking place this monthy to coincide with the Tour De France, with a number of great events organised by Sustrans - a UK charity promoting travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day.

This weekend visitors enjoyed the chance have their picture taken on the 'Champ Elysees' in a French photo booth, enjoy static bike racing and find out more about cycling in and around Swindon.

Wharf Green

 

Fun on two wheels was had with the chance to ride around Wharf Green on bikes both modern and from a bygone era, including unusual more laid-back designs and even a bike made for snow riding (in the height of summer!)

 

   

The Tour de Swindon continue for the rest of July including another town centre show, orienteering events, treasure hunts and Sky Rides plus the Grand Finale in Coate Water.

Sky Rides

Sky Ride Local offers local people the chance to join organised, guided rides of varying distances and difficulties – ranging from easygoing spins around picturesque parts of Swindon through to ‘steady’ and ‘challenging’ rides, for those seeking a little more adventure.

Grand Finale

 

The Tour will culminate in Coate Water Park for the ‘Grand Finale’ event on Sunday 27th July, with a range of activities for all the family, including face painting, bike smoothie-making, free bike safety check ups and security marking.
