Former Tottenham frontman and deadline day signing Jon Obika was the hero of the day for Town on Saturday with a 2 goal haul at Valley Parade.

 

It was a hard fought victory and a match that didn't get off to the best of starts for the away side! The Robins conceding a penalty as early as the 3rd minute.

 

Swindon shot stopper Wes Foderingham tripped the onrushing Billy Clarke, but the keeper was to redeem himself moments later with the save.

 

The joy of the penalty save wasn't to last long though, with Bradford taking the lead minutes later after Louis Thompson inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

 

Swindon rallied, and shortly after 20 minutes the sprightly Jon Obika headed in the equaliser from a Bradley Smith corner.

 

The turnaround was completed shortly before half time. Obika reacting quickest to a loose ball from another corner, and firing ruthlessly into the roof of the net.

 

Despite some late pressure from the home side, Town held onto their advantage and came away with their first away win of the season.
