Swindon Town leapfrogged Bristol City to regain top spot last night, after a mighty impressive victory against struggling Coventry live on Sky Sports.

 

The first half couldn't really have gone much better for the Robins, with Town controlling the play right from the off.

 

And the travelling pocket of Town support didn't have to wait long to see the possession turned into something more meaningful.

 

A quick burst down the wing, and a snappy cross from left-back Harry Toffolo found the head of the lively Andy Williams, who made no mistake from the edge of the six-yard box with a bullet.

 

The chances kept coming for Swindon, and before long it was two.

 

Coventry striker (and former Town loanee) Frank Nouble was adjudged to have brought down Louis Thompson in the box, and Andy Williams put Town's recent penalty troubles to bed by slotting the ball to the keeper's left.

 

The second half was a far more scrappy affair with misplaced passes being the order of the day, but, in truth, the game had already been won.

 

It was left to former Tottenham man Jon Obika to put the cherry on the cake, rounding the keeper in the 81st minute, and sending Swindon back to the top - and with his first touch too!

 

Manager Mark Cooper commented: "I thought for 70 minutes we played well. You know that second half, Coventry will give everything and we gave them a bit of initiative. We’ve got to be pleased with that. We’ve had some good away performances but I thought first half we were really good. I’m just pleased we showed a lot of people tonight what we’re about."
