After a run of three games without a goal, Town returned to scoring ways in style this afternoon - putting four goals past League One strugglers Colchester United.

 

It was a confident display from the visitors, albeit not one without scares - Vigouroux doing particularly well to claw away a well placed header early doors.

 

Town took the lead with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Nicky Ajose breaking the offside trap with a perfectly timed run and slotting low past the Colchester keeper.

 

A quick-fire double from Ajose and Doughty put Swindon further ahead, but despite a late consolation from Edwards - Michael Doughty further extended the lead with 20 minutes left on the clock.

 

Swindon Town manager Luke Williams was delighted with what he saw: "To get back to scoring was very satisfying. We went a couple of games not hitting the back of the net so that was a relief. There was a mini crisis and we’ve shown again that we’re lethal on the attack so we’re going to feel positive we can score goals next weekend."
