Town's march up the League One table continued on Saturday with a hard fought win at Peterborough United.

 

As you would expect from Town this season, it was far from a routine win, and when the referee pointed to the spot after just 12 minutes - it was looking somewhat ominous for the travelling contingent!

 

Swindon midfielder Michael Doughty hanging out a leg which Marcus Maddison was only too happy to make contact with.

 

Maddison converted the subsequent spot kick himself leaving Town with it all to do.

 

Luckily for the Robins, they have a certain Nicky Ajose - and when he stepped up for a freekick on the edge of the box shortly after half time - there was only going to be one outcome.

 

The 24-year old striker notching his 20th goal of the season with a beautifully placed freekick.

 

And with 8 minutes left on the clock, Doughty had the final say - putting the penalty incident behind him to slot a late winner through a crowded box.

 

Manager Luke Williams commented "I think it (the most pleasing aspect of the win) is seeing the group of players at half-time - how focused they were, no panic there. They left the changing room feeling they’d change it round and to see them carry that out was very impressive and pleasing."
