Dickie Dosh the target man for Town
Former Walsall boss top of Fitton's list
Preferred choice:
Richard Money |
If Andrew Fitton has his way, former Walsall boss Richard Money will be the next Swindon manager.
As hotly tipped on this website three weeks ago, Money - or 'Dickie Dosh' as the Walsall fans nicknamed him - is understood to be the number one choice of the Swindon chairman and the Board - and his appointment could be announced this weekend.
Money is currently employed as Academy Director at Newcastle United, where he has guided the youth team to the top of the Premier Academy League after a run of eight consecutive victories.
Sources believe Newcastle are keen to retain Money's services and that compensation could be a stumbling block. Discussions are believed to be at a 'crucial stage'.
In his last League managerial position, Money led Walsall from League Two as champions in 2007 in the same season Swindon were promoted under Paul Sturrock. He left after accusing the club of a 'lack of ambition'.
