Hockaday now in the frame
Former Town star being lined up Town job
Dave Hockaday is the surprise candidate to become the new Swindon manager - as negotiations with Richard Money hit a snag, SwindonWeb understands.
Hockaday is currently first team coach at Southampton, but as assistant to Ady Boothroyd at Watford in 2007, the former Town star has the Premiership experience that STFC chief executive Nick Watkins has alluded to.
"We've gone with someone who's got experience of working in the Championship, of working in League One, possibly had expereince in League Two, and maybe as an added bonus working in the Premiership, not necessarily in a managerial capacity" Watkins is quoted as saying.
In the meantime, rumours persist that Money - tipped on SwindonWeb three weeks ago - has resigned his position as Academy Director at Newcastle United. But this has not been confirmed.
Colin Calderwood is understood to be relunctant to leave Nottingham Forest.
