Swindon's dismal F.A. Cup record continued with an embarrassing defeat at non-league Histon. Despite a marked improvement in performances over the last few weeks Town were unable impose their supposed superiority against a gritty Histon side. The conference high-fliers out-fought and out-muscled their League One opponents on their way to a second round place. Histon grabbed their chance in the 66th minute when Danny Wright was on hand to fire home past a helpless Peter Brezovan. Despite the introduction of Mark Marshall and Barry Corr in an attempt to get back in the game, but Town were unable to force a replay an once again find themselves humbled by a lower league side.
