Despite Simon Cox's first hat-trick in a Town shirt it wasn't enough to give Swindon a much needed three points.

 

Having taken a deserved two goal advantage into the break it looked like the under pressure Maurice Malpas had found the formula to silence a few of his critics.

 

However, a second half hat-trick of his own from Joel Porter was enough to earn his side a share of the points - and in the process break the hearts of Town's travelling contingent.

The draw leaves Town precariously close to the drop zone and will undoubtedly leave the management and players scratching their heads as to how they let Hartlepool back into a game that looked like it was sewn up.
