It may have only been a reserve game - but Swindon may have broken the curse of their home defeats last night.

 

Goals from Ben Joyce and Barry Corr were enough to seal the deal and claim the win against Cheltenham Town.

 

Despite the visitors sending a strong side, which included trialists Ian Westlake from Leeds United and Leicester's Johnny Hayes, Town showed their determination to prove a point to manager Maurice Malpas, who yesterday called for his players to 'stand up and be counted'.

 

"First and foremost we have won a game at the County Ground which is a great feeling," commented a clearly pleased Ady Williams, reserve team boss.

 

"The determination was there and I hope the team can use this in their game on Saturday."
