Maurice Malpas declared himself 'delighted' with Town's performance against Championship side Cardiff in their latest pre-season game.

 

Lee Peacock scored the opener just before the half-hour mark as he marked his return to the starting line-up with a goal following his troublesome achilles injury.

 

Paul Parry levelled the game just after the break following a defensive mistake from youngster Sean Morrison.

 

However, the star of the show was trialist Lilian Nalis whose quality and experience was clear to see in the heart of the Town midfield.

 

After the game Malpas was the first to admit that he would be keen to push through a deal for the former Leicester and Plymouth man.

 

Trialist Yinka Casal also caught the manager's eye with an assured display on the left flank.

 

"I was delighted with both Lilian and Yinka and thought both brought something to the game," commented Malpas, who spoke to SwindonWeb at the final whistle.

 

"I have my eye on a winger so hopefully we can add to the numbers."
