Nottingham Forest 1 Swindon Town 0

Coca-Cola League One

RESULT: Nottingham Forest 1 Swindon Town 0

Forest scorer: N Tyson 51

Despite a plucky performance at the City ground, Swindon suffered a second consecutive away defeat at the hands of title-chasing Nottingham Forest.

The suspended Simon Cox was replaced by Blair Sturrock in attack and Craig Easton returned to the midfield for the injured Lee Peacock. However, at times Swindon's lack of creativity and fire power were all too apparent.

Ultimately the game was settled early in the second-half when the pacey Nathan Tyson broke through the Town defence and slotted the ball under Peter Brezovan.

However, during a tight and tense first-half the home side didn't have things all their own way with Swindon showing that they are a match for any side in the division on their day.

Both Jon-Paul McGovern and Anthony McNamee had opportunities to break the dead-lock for the Town in the first-half.

Unfortunately for the travelling fans the second period proved to be a different story, with Forest dominating for long spells. This coupled with Tyson's early second-half strike proved to be enough for home side to take all three points.

Manager Maurice Malpas attempted to get back into the game with the introduction of Christian Roberts and Moses Ashikodi but it was all to no avail as the home side continued to have the better of the chances.

This loss leaves a dent in Swindon's push for a play-off spot, and with a massive home game against promotion rivals Walsall next Saturday it is imperative that Town bounce back from this defeat.

With games still in hand on a number of sides above them the play-offs are still a realistic target but any mistakes from here on in could prove costly.
