Getting fit with the Link Centre: Week 1
Week 1: we try Body Attack
Now Liz and I have tried many activities over the years to get us fit and healthy – and taken a few bumps along the way.
But we’ve decided this year it’s all about making the most out of 2010.
So we’ve teamed up with the Link Centre to try a variety of classes that could do just that.
The first being ….
Body Attack?
Now that sounds tiring before we even started!
Known as a simple, high-intensity group exercise-to-music class that caters for all fitness levels – doesn’t sound that hard does it??
Or maybe it does!
But turning up for the class, costing us literally a £1 with our Swindon Card (as part of the Leisure passport), we immediately knew that whatever our pre-conceptions were, they were totally wide of the mark.
To thumping music, our instructors Wendy and Matt set a high tempo throughout and, after a brief warm-up – if you can call it that! - got us all realising how fit we could become. An hour class literally went by so quickly as we lost ourselves in all the punching, kicking – and the superman move! Sixty minutes that I can honestly say was some of the most rewarding and motivating I've ever spent.
And boy, did we enjoy it!
"You work at your own level and ability in Body Attack, so anyone can join in," commented Matt Hicks and Wendy Humphries, instructors from the Link Centre.
"It's all about having fun and getting fit at the same time."
