3:46am Tories win Swindon 

Labour era ends, as both North and South Swindon vote blue

 

In an overwelming vote in favour of the Conservatives, both Swindon constituencies have new MPs this morning.

 

Justin Tomlinson won for the Tories in North Swindon with a majority of 7,060.

 

Robert Buckland defeated Labour's Anne Snelgrove in South Swindon by 3,544 votes.

 

In North Wiltshire, Conservative MP James Gray held his seat.

Conservatives maintain control

 

There were no shocks in the Swindon Council Elections that took place on the same day.

 

The Conservatives maintain control of the Borough Council with 41 seats, 13 Labour, 4 Liberal Democrats and one Independent.
