Goldenhar Family Day 2010
A weekend of fun raised money and gave awareness for the Goldenhar Family Support Group
A weekend of fun gave awareness for the Goldenhar Family Support Group this weekend.
Taking place at The Blunsdon House Hotel 28 families got together for a weekend of ten-pin bowling, Jonathans Jungle Roadshow and the opportunity for parents to listen to guest speakers Mr Walid Sabbagh Surgical Ear Reconstruction (London Free Hospital) & Mr Neil Bulstrode Plastic Surgeon (Great Ormond Street Hospital).
Three and half year old Morgan Sharpe, from Middleleaze, was diagnosed with Goldenhar Syndrome, a term used for a range of bone abnormalities affecting the face and sometimes the vertebrae, as a baby.
Morgan has a missing ear, a missing eye, a tracheotomy, and fluid in the ventricles of his brain. His grandfather Alan Holmes now organises charity events for the Goldenhar Family Support Group.
The purpose of the family day is to meet other families who have very similar problems - to chat, to eat, drink and chat some more.
