Swindon fitness fanatic turns sofa sloach for Sport Relief

 

UPDATE: Mike Buss has officially broken the World Record

 

The man often described as the 'world's fittest' has turned in a coach potato - in the name of charity.

 

Swindon's Mike Buss is attempting this week to break the Guinness World Record for the longest non-stop TV marathon.

 

And after two days awake on a sofa in the Designer Outlet Centre, more than a few energy drinks and umpteen re-runs of Transformers cartoons, Mike is half-way to his 5-day 23 minute target.

 

 

"It's a lot tougher than I thought - a lot tougher!" Mike admitted, whose records already include running 100 consecutive marathons in 100 days and 48-hours non-stop on a treadmill.

 

"I'm used to being so active so just sitting here just doesn't feel right. I desperately need some sleep, but I'll manage it. It'll be such a relief when Saturday comes."

 

Mike is being supported in his attempt by John Lewis and food stalls at the Outlet and encouragement from shoppers.

 

"Most can't believe what I'm trying but all have them have wished me all the best."
