Festive nightmare for young driver as BMW goes up in flames
Spare a festive thought for the young driver of the car below, which caught fire last night on Thamesdown Drive.
He'll certainly have some explaining to do to his father after firefighters were called to put out a blaze that has rendered the vehicle a virtual write-off.
Witnesses at the scene reported a man in his early twenties jokingly bemoan that
"Dad won't be pleased" as he stood back and watched the silver BMW 5-series go up in smoke!
Cue awkward silence around the Christmas dinner table, we think!
