Camilla Becomes New Prospect Hospice President
HRH The Duchess of Cornwall is to become the new President of Swindon charity
HRH The Duchess of Cornwall is to become the new President of Prospect Hospice, the charity which provides end-of-life care to a community of over 300,000 across north Wiltshire.
Her Royal Highness visited the Wroughton based hospice in January 2012 where she met patients, volunteers and staff, and was delighted to be asked to become its President.
Announcing the news, Angela Jordan, Prospect Hospice’s chief executive, said: “We are thoroughly delighted that HRH The Duchess of Cornwall has agreed to take on the role of President for Prospect Hospice."
"When she came to Prospect Hospice last year we were so impressed by her natural empathy for the work that we do here, and she created an immediate rapport with the many patients that she met and spoke with, talking with them first and foremost as people, rather than as patients."
"We hope that her commitment will enable us to communicate both locally and more widely our vision of excellence and choice in end-of-life care for everyone,” Angela added. “We also hope that The Duchess’ patronage will help us to raise awareness and support the considerable work that Prospect Hospice does in our community.”
