Jim Who?

Labour leader Ed Miliband makes headlines with Swindon gaff

He can't be expected to know the name of every Labour supporter in Swindon, but you'd think Ed Miliband would at least be better briefed on who the Labour leader is - especially if it's a live interview on BBC Radio Wiltshire.

But Mr Miliband was almost lost for words when questioned on the subject of Jim Grant, the Swindon Labour leader looking to take control of Swindon Council at the Thursday local elections.

Apart from not knowing who Jim Grant was, Mr Miliband had to be corrected by BBC Breakfast Host Ben Prater when he then described Mr Grant as already the leader of Swindon Council, in what has been widely described as a 'car crash' interview.

General Election confrontation 2010

Ed Miliband probably won't want to be reminded about Swindon again, considering his last visit also ended up making front-page news when a Penhill pub landlord confronted him and then Prime Minister Gordon Brown at Drove School!

See story & video below.

The Swindon Council Elections are this Thursday, 22 May.
