Students and teachers from Churchfields Academy in Swindon are celebrating another strong set of GCSE results
Teenagers throughout Wiltshire nervously collected their GCSE results this morning, but for one school in Swindon - it was largely a day of celebration!
The school, which specialises in Maths, Computing and Science, was today highlighting its outstanding results in not only those subjects, but Statistics, Citizenship, and Religious Education as well.
Impressively, of all students at the 1,000-strong academy, 37.1 per cent achieved 1 A* or A grade.
Sharon Kirwan, Principal of Churchfields Academy said: “I’m delighted once again by the fantastic results across a diverse range of subjects. They will enable our outgoing students to go on to college and university. We’re all proud of them, it’s an emotional and moving day for us all.”
Independent careers advisors were available during the morning for those who didn’t get the grades they expected. This support was designed to help those students still gain their place at college.
