Miss Swindon's 50s revival
Rebecca Cole travels back in time for a 50's pin-up shoot in Swindon.
Miss Swindon's Rebecca Cole has teamed up with Swindon photographer Kris Talikowski, for a new and funky 50's girl pin-up shoot.
The shoot featured Rebecca Cole who won the title of Miss Swindon last April.
An aspiring model and artist, Becky has been a Swindon favourite for the last 12 months attending events as the town's official Miss Swindon - a competition run by Miss England.
This year Becky has set her sights higher, by entering the upcoming competition for Miss Wiltshire. "I absolutely loved the shoot, it gave me a chance to be a bit creative and try something new" commented Becky, "I'm also very excited about the Miss Wiltshire Competition, I've loved every minute of being Miss Swindon this year and want to carry on by representing my region in the year to come."
Becky was shot by local Swindon photographer Kris Talikowski. "Becky's been great to work with, and the 50's look really suits her" said Kris, "We wanted to shoot it in Swindon obviously, and so hunted out some great venue's that would give us the 50's feel we were after."
Family run launderette Wash 'n' Go on Cambria Bridge Road was the perfect backdrop with it's heavy duty old-style washers and dryers. After raising some temperatures in Wash 'n' Go, it was off to the sultry red fabrics of SUJU nightclub in Old Town.
Hair and Makeup was kindly provided by award winning duo Becky & Vanda Tanner from OMG Hair and Beauty. "When Becky said she wanted to do a 50's style I got pretty excited as I love that look and it was great to see what we could achieve for her," commented Vanda.
The Miss Swindon and Miss Wiltshire Competition are currently being run in conjunction with Miss England and 20 girls have been finalised after try outs on the 19th April. SwindonWeb's own shoot with the finalists will be coming soon.
