Railway Festival 2007
The sights, sounds and smells of a bygone age attracted over three thousand people to the STEAM museum in Swindon this weekend.
Visitors of all ages taking the chance to get up close to a whole range of lifesize and model steam trains - and to meet pop impresario Pete Waterman, who attended the Festival to exhibit his impressive collection of 'just like the real thing' steam locomotives.
Waterman, who, as a lifelong train enthusiast, has supported the event every year since it started in 2002 , had nothing but praise for the museum and what he desribed as ".... one of the best shows of its kind in the country."
"It's brilliant here," he told us, "and fantastic to see so many youngsters showing an interest."
"Swindon is steeped in railway history and what was acheived here over nearly 150 years deserves to be recognised and celebrated."
