It was a night of hard fought racing at the Abbey stadium which eventually saw Australian hand Craig Boyce's side a slender three point victory over England in the Under 23 Test Match.

Troy Batchelor set the tone as he lead his fellow team mates to victory in the opener and gathered an impressive thirteen point haul overall.

The Australian septet trailed by seven points after heat ten but struck back in the final third of the meeting and in doing so ensured the overall winners of test series will be determined by the outcome of the final round at Somerset on Friday night.

Tai Woffinden’s twelve point score headed the England score card and the Rye House rider showed great speed all night long.

Woffinden received solid support from Eastbourne’s Lewis Bridger who notched paid nine and also Swindon’s James Wright who collected an identical haul.

The Australian score chart was headed by a majestic seventeen point haul from Chris Holder. The twenty year old competed in a hectic six ride schedule that included a tactical substitute outing in heat eleven during which Holder suffered his only defeat of the night.

An Australian 5-1 in heat fourteen and a 4-2 in the final race proved enough for Craig Boyce’s side to register victory and in doing so set up an exciting climax to the test series.
