Ideas to keep the kids entertained before and after Christmas day
Christmas is an exciting time for the kids, but it can be hard to find something other than the latest games console to keep them occupied.
But fear not. For here at SwindonWeb, we've compiled the best of the west for entertainment this season - so take our advice for the kids (and big kids!), and fill your holidays with good old Christmas spirit...
Next Generation clubs are specifically geared towards keeping children entertained, and this year their Swindon club at Kembrey Park have a whole host of activities organised for this Christmas period.

Farmer Gows at Longcot are offering fabulous fun to be had for all the kids this Christmas.
Enter a magical woodland of Christmas trees within the Abe Gow barn, before having the chance to seeing santa who is visiting the farm from Saturday the 20th December until the 23rd from 11am untill 1.00pm.
We all know baby Jesus was born in a manger, so how better to celebrate the Christmas period than rubbing noses with some of the farm animals who were there on the big day (not the actual ones, obviously)...
Take your cheeky monkeys somewhere they can really run wild! Open all year round with fun activities to do and lots of animals see - just make sure you wrap up warm!
Catch the animals at feeding time, jump around in the play area or take a train ride!
Why not bowl a couple of games in the Ten Pin alley? It's a great bit of fun for all the family - and remember, a little bit of competition can be healthy!

Swindon's Designer Outlet will become a Christmas wonderland this year.
Barney the Dinosaur willl be helping the Mayor turn on the Macmillian 'Tree of Thought' on the 15th of November. And before they fly off to help Santa, reel reindeer will be on hand for visitors on Saturday 15 November and Wednesday 24 December as well as much, much more.

One thing's for certain this Christmas - it's going to be cold one!
So why not get a taste of the tropics at Butterfly World on Jnct. 16.
They've got hundreds of butterflies flying about plus loads more to see and do including a display a mini beats and an outdoor animal paddock with ducks, geese, rabbits and goats.
The next door craft village is also a great place to explore., and perfect for picking up unusual Christmas gifts.

And throughout December Lydiard will be hosting a whole range of Christmas activities including performances from Swindon Choral Society, Christmas tree decorations and wreath and table decorating.
