High Street

This is High Street. The old picture was taken during the 1960's and you can still see the Bell hanging outside what used to be the Bell Hotel.

While the left hand side of the picture has remained almost unchanged the right hand side has undergone a big transformation. The Goddard Arms is still visible up ahead but the red brick building on the right has been completely demolished.

Old photographs ŠThe Swindon Society and used with their kind permission.
