Reliability:
to make it affordable, to build confidence in the manufacturer, and to measure
your expectations. And what is one alternative word for reliability – trust?
Develop Trust
Being reliable constitutes the development of
trust. It indicates a level of commitment between two people who wish to pursue
and build a business relationship.
Being reliable says to someone that you are not
just a “fly by night” person networking for a quick fix; to do business, secure
a deal and be off.
You are
here for the long haul; to discover what type of working relationship you can
build, what type of business you can potentially do together, or how you can
refer business opportunities onwards to others.
Many people might say that anyone can “promise
the world” in a conversation and that “talk is cheap”. There will always be people out there who are in
business for quick results, whose aim is to make as much money as they can in
the shortest possible time.
Obviously
you would not even build the slightest bit of trust, respect or confidence in
them. Being aware of potentially “bad” business deals is vital.
Great Expectations
Consider what you want to achieve from the
business relationships you build. Don’t expect the earth from someone if you’re
not prepared to put yourself forward.
Expectations need to be clear so both parties
can be sure about how the relationship will progress, from beginning to end.
Measuring
your expectations develops confidence in you and your business. It outlines
your values and principles, placing you as an individual with integrity and
authority. In other words you create respect. Having confidence in an
individual is a high priority for most business owners.
Build a Reputation
It cannot
be disputed that good reputations are built on trust. The more someone gets to
know who you are and that you can deliver on your word, or hears rave reviews
about your previous business performance, your reputation naturally moves in an
upward direction.
Let’s face it - people like to do business with someone who is
trustworthy and reliable.
