Oh no he isn't, oh yes he is!
New Wyvern Director takes centre stage
With the likes of Michael McIntyre and ITV’s Emmerdale star Lorraine Chase being announced as just some of the acts set to perform at the Wyvern - it's time to get excited about theatre.
And one person who is definitely taking centre stage is the new director of the Wyvern Theatre, Derek Aldridge.
Derek has extensive knowledge of theatre and the performing arts industry and is looking forward to his new career at the Wyvern Theatre which is part of the HQ Theatre group.
Derek first began his theatrical career whilst working at the Palace Theatre (West End) during a gap year before attending Worcester University studying for a degree in Drama. It was during his degree that he developed a passion for the development and outreach possibilities that theatre presents to the community. His degree allowed him to develop his skills in the off stage elements of the industry.
New role
“I am extremely excited to be given the role of Theatre Director for the Wyvern in Swindon," Derek told us. "I have heard about the fantastic work and shows that are presented on the stage throughout the year and am looking forward to putting together a programme that appeals to everyone in Swindon and beyond.
"I believe that the Theatre should be a focal point of the town and I aim to encourage the development of our audiences along with ensuring we offer the best theatre that already gives so much to the community”. |
