All eyes on business success 

Jamie-Murray Wells gives New College forum candid insight into the growth of Glasses Direct
 
Local entrepreneur Jamie Murray-Wells gave an insight into the success of his Glasses Direct business last night at New College.
 
In an event organised by Fast Forward, the college's business training division, over a hundred guests listened as Murray-Wells spoke candidly about the ups and downs of building up Glasses Direct and the challenges facing all businesses in the current climate.

Speakers at the evening also included Rikki Hunt, who gave the invited audience a positive update on the Swindon economy as well his own experiences of running the likes of Swindon Town Football Club and Burmah Petroleum.

Fast Forward hosted the event to highlight how training and development is vital to improving business competitiveness in the recovering economic market - both crucial elements Murray-Wells admitted were key as he seeks to develop his own business still further.
 
Jamie launched a new service in 2010, Hearing Direct, based on the Glasses Direct business model, the multi-million pound company based at Groundwell he founded in 2004 while still at University.
 
He 2009 he became the youngest person to have receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
