Why Pounds Are Bad for You!Our Swindon business advice column with Gail GibsonThe media and society tell us that lb’s are bad. The media
and society also inform us how to gain/lose these unwanted/wanted extras in our
life.
How
do you feel about lbs? Are they good or bad for you?
In
my opinion too many lbs are bad for you. But not the numerical weight
measurement. I’m talking about lb’s being Limiting Beliefs.
Consider this: too
many limiting beliefs are unhealthy, they are bad for you and you will benefit
massively when you lose them.
Limiting
beliefs are one of the most significant issues that I am presented with as a
coach. Ninety nine percent of us have limiting beliefs at different times in
our lives.
How
do these lb’s creep into your life? You invite them in. Something happens to
you, and then you develop a limiting belief. This lb is based on a particular
experience, mostly as a result of a negative experience or one that takes you
so far out of your comfort zone that you refuse to face it again.
Why
do you let lb’s rule your life and make you unhealthy?
Many
people I coach initially prefer the security of what is known rather than what
is unknown. They like knowing who is around, what is in their immediate
vicinity, and they are content to know that their cocoon keeps them safe.
However
whilst in this cocoon of security, they unknowingly keep adding lb’s to their
life. What does this do to both them and their cocoon? All too soon the cocoon
is bursting at the seams and they feel bloated, unhealthy and typically
unhappy. What happened to the so called blissful state of contentment?
Lb’s
hold you back. Think about when you lose a few lb’s off your waist. How does it
make you feel – confident, happy? Losing weight is proven to help improve
confidence and self esteem. When you feel good about yourself, both internally
and externally, you will feel lighter and have more energy for life.
Now
it’s time to lose your limiting beliefs. Like added weight, which we are
responsible for gaining as we put the extra food in our mouth; limiting beliefs
stop you from realising your true potential and being the person you can be.
Lbs
are a burden you do not have to carry. Lbs are energy sapping. Lb’s are
dangerous to your health (they should have a medical warning!).
The
only way to lose your limiting beliefs is firstly to recognise that you have
them. When you see the “weight” you are carrying with your lbs, you can then
take steps to remove them from your life.
When
you lose your lb’s, you’ll be happier, you’ll open your eyes to life, (perhaps
even step outside your comfort zone) and you’ll achieve a greater level of
happiness, success and fulfilment.
