Motorists are being encouraged to share their journeys to cut commuting costs and reduce congestion this month.

 

Wiltshire Car Share Week: 09 - 13 February

 

Leading sustainable transport charity Sustrans, in partnership with Swindon Travel Choices, are promoting a new Wiltshire Car Share Week between 9th and 13th February, offering commuters the chance to win prizes for giving it a go.

 

Participants are invited to sign up through the Car Share Swindon website www.carshareswindon.com where they can find other people around the town and beyond, who are travelling the same route.

 

Win cinema tickets, a meal for two, or £50 of shopping vouchers

 

Everyone who signs up to the website between 1st and 13th February will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a pair of cinema tickets, a meal for two, or even £50 worth of high street shopping vouchers.

 

Those who share their photos and stories about car sharing on social media using #carshareswindon will also be entered into a prize draw to win a fantastic hamper of goodies worth £100 to enjoy with their car share companions.

 

 

Amy Martin, Sustrans Project Coordinator, said: “Swindon was recently ranked as the fourth most car-dependent place in the country, and we desperately need to reduce congestion in the town centre.

 

“The Car Share Swindon website has more than 2000 members already, so this is the perfect opportunity to find others to share your journey with, resulting in lower commuting costs for individuals, and helping to create a healthier environment for all in the process.”
