Swindon Businesses Meet the Chamber
Business leaders in Swindon gain an insight into the membership of the Swindon Chamber of Commerce
Over 100 business leaders in Swindon gained an insight into how membership of the Swindon Chamber of Commerce could help their organisation at the ‘Meet the Chamber’ event, which made a welcome return to Swindon on 25 November at the Wyvern Theatre.
At the event, both Chamber members and non-members were given the opportunity to meet Chamber representatives, who were on hand to provide an update on the wide range of cost-saving, support and business development services available to members.
“The Meet the Chamber events are a great way for businesses to learn about the benefits of membership," commented Kevin Copp, president of the Swindon Chamber.
"Entirely complimentary, and open to all businesses, they draw a large crowd and subsequently lead to excellent networking opportunities.
“Alongside meeting with a variety of business contemporaries, attendees were offered business advice and information on Chamber membership. It was great to see so many Swindon businesses in one place, which reflects the growing confidence in the community.
"I encouraged non-members to join the Chamber as together we can have more influence on the continued growth of Swindon. We look forward to welcoming new members to Swindon Chamber now that they have experienced the vibrancy of the local area through Meet the Chamber.”
Young Chamber Scheme
The event also welcomed students from Slough and Eton School’s Young Chamber Committee, who are taking part in the Young Chamber scheme.
The Young Chamber scheme – set up by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group in collaboration with East Berkshire Business Partnership – aims to contribute towards the skills development of young people in the local area.
The - twelve strong - Young Chamber committee members organise business activities including three events each term, and came along to the event to gain a better understanding of the Chamber and its events calendar.
