Surviving the economic storm
Strakers MD knows experience will be key to success

With the country preparing itself for an economic recession, the housing market is being hit hard.
But for Strakers Estate Agents, who have eight branches across
Wiltshire - including one in Old Town - say it's business as usual.
Managing Director Antony Bulley believes that experience has shaped the development of the company over the past 13 years - and will be their key to success over the coming months.
"When it comes down to a situation which needs judgement and experience, such as we have now, agents like ourselves who have been immersed in the local and regional market for decades find ourselves at a huge advantage," he said.
"We know that the property market can be fickle and that good years can be followed by lean ones - and that the wisest approach was to spread our expertise across several specialisms."
The firm has built up a successful portfolio of services to complement its residential sales division, including lettings and management, land and new homes, property auctions, survey and valuations.
"The solid businesses who have mixed portfolios and have been through the boom and bust before will last the course," commented Antony.
