Come to our Play Readings!

Rehearsals for 'One for the Road' by Willy Russell won't begin until the autumn so we're meeting every Tuesday night to read through plays, brought along by members.

It's really very simply, a member will bring along a play they think might suit OTTC's talents and style, and we read it! We'll all take different roles as the scenes change, and we find it's an excellent way of achieving a much better understanding of what a play is actually saying, or how we might possibly stage it. It's also a great chance to say, 'Errm, excuse me – I don't understand why so'n'so says this bit…', and have it talked through with the others who didn't get it either! There is no such thing as a daft question!

It's all very friendly, but with a three act play to get through in a couple of hours, it's also pretty focussed! If we're to finish reading the play, we need to crack on – so we do!

We're meeting every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm.

Please, if you're interested in OTTC, then this is a fine way of getting to know us, without the commitment of a full show. You don't have to bring a play either, just be willing to read the one that's on offer that evening!
